NETCO is proud to announce that it achieved an important milestone towards sustainable funding. In April 2008 the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers-Construction Council of Ontario (IBEW-CCO), which represents 13 IBEW Local Unions and the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario, made a joint contribution to NETCO through the Joint Electrical Promotion Plan (JEPP).

NETCO is partnering with the Construction Sector Council to develop an industry-specific numeracy assessment tool. A talented Steering Committee met for the first time in March 2008. A beta version of the numeracy assessment is being pilot tested by five industry partners starting in the Fall of 2008. (See CSC-NETCO Numeracy Project for more details).

NETCO is researching and developing position papers on issues of importance to the electrical industry to drive its advocacy strategy. NETCO is activating its emergent role as a national voice of influence in government affairs and public policy. The position papers will be available in the Fall of 2008 and posted on NETCO’s Web site.

NETCO was an exhibitor at the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum’s conference in Victoria June 8-10, 2008. Our Human Resource Tools & Products were very well received.

NETCO is sponsoring the 1st Annual Canadian Meeting of Training Coordinators in Toronto on August 23-24, 2008 as recommended by delegates to our 2007 National Training Symposium. Download the Agenda & Registration Package for full details.
