NETCO is pleased to sponsor the 1st Annual Canadian Meeting of Training Coordinators/Directors in Toronto on Aug. 23-24, 2008 as recommended by delegates to our 2007 National Training Symposium. It is being held just prior to the IBEW Progress Meeting.

This unique professional development and networking opportunity is targeted to IBEW Training Directors/Coordinators and others responsible for administering electrical apprenticeship and journeyperson skills training as part of their job function. It is a Canadian forum for peer-to-peer interaction and sharing of ideas.

On Saturday, August 23rd the agenda features a practical focus on accessing training resources and supports including those available through NETCO as well as the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC). There will also be interactive presentations from JAC representatives across Canada on a range of topics (e.g., assessment and training of foreign trained tradespeople, supplemental training for apprentices). An evening dinner function is being sponsored by the Electrical Joint Training Committee, IBEW, Local 213 & ECA of BC.

On Sunday, August 24, 2008 the agenda features tours of training centres hosted by the Joint Apprenticeship Council-IBEW, Local 353/Greater Toronto ECA as well as IBEW, Local Union 353. The networking will continue at Rogers Centre—home of the Toronto Blue Jays. Tickets are being sponsored by the Joint Apprenticeship Council-IBEW, Local 353/Greater Toronto ECA.
